University of the Virgin Islands
Virgin Islands
WTCI designed the wired and wireless infrastructure in the
Harvey Center at the University of the Virgin Islands. The
Harvey Center is a three-story building that was converted
into Executive Offices, Admissions, Finance, Information
Technology offices and training areas. The building will utilize
Cat6 copper, single mode fiber and 802.11g radios to support
staff, faculty, students and local businesses that will use the
facility. The building will also employ voice over IP technology
within the building and as the method for connecting to the
University’s main AVAYA PBX.
WTCI
in partnership with Security Evolutions, Inc. has provided a
Network Security Review and a Disaster Recovery
Plan for the University. Additional efforts are underway to
redesign the data network on both campuses to include additional
fiber capacity, redundant loops in the network and a potential
digital microwave link between St. Thomas and St. Croix.
Provided technical review and contract negotiations on behalf of
the University of the Virgin Islands that resulted in savings of
over 25% off the original bid and an increase in wireless and IP
Telephony products being offered as part of a PBX Upgrade and
expansion project.
